Testimonials from Emergency Preparedness Courses G’day Ken, Regarding the incident management course, all of the Tritton & Byrnecut personnel have given very positive feedback. “I have recently taken on the role as Mine Manager for a new mining operation that is 60-100km distant from supporting mines and towns and my organisation needs to be capable of adequately responding to an emergency at the site. As part of this preparedness I encouraged several of my operating team including surface and underground personnel to participate in the incident management course provided by Mines Rescue Pty Ltd. The strong appeal of the course offered by Mines Rescue was the practical knowledge of the course leader, Ken Enright, and the ability to obtain accreditation based on competencies that are demonstrated during the course. The shared knowledge of the course participants was an added benefit that made the learning all the more real with the sharing of first and second hand experiences of incidents in other mines and in everyday life. The course prompted a deal of reflection on how adequate your mine site is in being able to handle an emergency and I am now armed with the information and knowledge to work to improve the site capabilities and to share the responsibilities in managing an emergency. The course was stimulating and challenging. A lot of industry experience is shared and the relevant laws and regulations reviewed. The mock emergency that was conducted as part of the course clearly demonstrated the intensity and the difficulties that would be experienced by those involved with a real emergency. I now have the challenge to implement the knowledge gained through the incident management course. Thanks to Mines Rescue Pty Ltd for developing the course and well done Ken in delivering the course. Leo Dawson Mine Manager - Tritton Copper Mine” 6/11/2004 The Emergency Preparedness Course I attended in Nyngan was well prepared, in text and PowerPoint. The presentation of the course was of a high standard, which made it a lot easier to learn. I have Endeavor Operations Pty Ltd Emergency Response Plan in draft form and was close to making it a controlled document, but now I realise there are a lot of things out of your course I can include to our document. "Ken" thank you very much, now I understand the whole picture in Emergency Preparedness and this will give me the resources I need to produce a workable Emergency Response Plan.
