Nationally accredited Safe Working at Heights training

The aim of this training program is to provide the skills, knowledge and competencies to allow employees to identify and control hazards, work to safety standards and use safety equipment when working at heights.

 This training program is based are the training outcomes the nationally recognised competency MNMG237A Work Safely at Heights

Program Content:    

  • Management plans

  • Safe work procedures

  • Working at height permits

  • Supervision and leadership

  • Risk management

  • Task analysis

  • Hierarchy of controls

  • Drop zones/barricades

  • Safety equipment

  • Fall restraint and fall arrest

  • Anchorage and fastening points

  • Safe use of tools and equipment at height (Optional)

  • Safe use of ladders and scaffolding (Optional)

  • Working with elevated work platforms (Optional)

  • Rescue plan (Optional)

The training program is conducted interactively with the trainer and participants in a lecture room and simulated workplace environment. The trainer will provide information and resources to enable the participants to develop the required skills and knowledge to achieve the outcomes of the program. The practical exercise will make use of simulated scenarios reflecting the workplace setting

The New South Wales Mines Rescue Service perceives the benefits of this training program to include but not limited to:

  •  Reduced accidents and injuries

  • Reduced lost time injuries

  • Increase in moral and motivation

  • Establish safe work practices for employees, contactors and visitors

  • Comply with internal and external safety audits

  • Investment in personal safety and training opportunities

  • Projecting an image of a safe and healthy workplace

Training is conducted over a 4 hour period for the required content with a further  4 hour session to complete the optional components
