Apply and monitor emergency preparedness and response systems.
The course is designed to be conducted over 4 days and
includes the final assessment.
Pre course assignments are to be completed by each
participant prior to course commencement for use during the course.

Description:
The course is designed to be conducted over a
four day period and includes time to complete the final assessment. Prior to the
commencement of the course a pre course assignment is to be completed by each
participant for use during the course.
The course is made up of seven modules, these being:
• Introduction:
Contents: Roles and responsibilities, response equipment, safe working practices
and
emergency response procedures.
• Emergency Planning:
Contents: Risk management, organisation, planning, types of incidents,
resources,
training and assessment, auditing and decision making.
• Incident Response & Ongoing Management:
Contents: Mobilisation, incident management, monitoring and media liaison.
• Post Incident Management:
Contents: Operational, people and statutory issues.
• Legislation:
Contents: All state and territory legislation that is applicable to managing a
mining incident.
The training course can be customised for individual mines to suit the working
environment of that mine. The simulations used in the training course are then
replaced with the real working environment of the particular mine.
Although this training course is designed for
underground Metalliferous mines, the principles and underlying skills and
knowledge also apply to:
• Surface Metalliferous mines;
• Quarries; and
• Other industrial sites.
• Underground coal mines;
• Surface coal mines.
The course will be conducted at major central locations throughout Australia or
at mine sites if numbers of participant are sufficient.
