Mines Rescue offer 3 levels of accredited Confined Space Training Level 1 Confined Space Worker - 3 Days (No Breathing Apparatus) LEVEL 1 is targeted at employee’s who are engaged in performing work on or in the confined space or who have ancillary roles such as standby duties. Level 3 Confined Space Supervisor / Planner 4 - 5 Days LEVEL 3 is the full program covering all the relevant competencies. It combines Level 1 & 2 and includes Emergency Response. This person may also issue confined space permits. Refresher / Reaccredidation Training 1 Day refresher courses are held regularly to allow participants to keep up to date with changes in confined space legislation and practices. This training fulfils the requirements of AS2865 which states that people who work in confined spaces should be "trained and retrained at regular intervals."
Mines Rescue Pty Limited is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) code 90508. Training for all levels of confined space personnel meets all the competencies as laid out in the federal document released by National Occupational Health and Safety Commission January 1996; (Core Training Elements for the National Standard for Safe Working in a Confined Space) The training takes into account all other competencies as laid out in Standards Australia AS2865 and include Occupational Health and Safety requirements and all related documents. Confined Space Courses are offered as either public courses or for specific industries. Clients come from a diverse context including Councils, Agriculture, Government, Shipping, Military, Aviation and Manufacturing sectors. All the training programs may be conducted on the clients site or at any of the four Mines Rescue Stations within NSW. The majority of these programs are accredited and aim at all levels of employees. Guidance material on Confined Spaces states that core competencies must be maintained and Re-Accreditation training should take place at appropriate intervals.
